The Ron Paul Revolution

rpPOSTER print

Who Is Ron Paul?

in
Congressman Ron Paul of Texas enjoys a national reputation as the premier advocate for liberty in politics today. Dr. Paul is the leading spokesman in Washington for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies based on commodity-backed currency. He is known among both his colleagues in Congress and his constituents for his consistent voting record in the House of Representatives: Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the "one exception to the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill.
And he's running for President of the United States of America!  The fact is, he's winning the race now!  Didn't know that?  Find out what the mainstream media doesn't want you to know and much more.  View the links:

Random Picture of the Day

Our ornery little ray of sunshine!
She is such a dollie!
This little gal has enough personality contained in herself for the whole family!
Can hardly believe how big she's gotten and how quickly it has happened!

Recipe of the Month

We would like to dedicate this recipe to two very special families in our lives.

To Grandma Phylis,
who made this for our family the last time we were visiting and made it a second time because everyone liked it so well.  We love you and Grandpa so much!  Thanks for all the recipes you have shared and for the love and care that you have for Grandpa.  You are a blessing to our family.

and to
The Koons family,
who have become very dear to us and treat Tayte so very well.  Thank you all for your love.  You are very special to us.
Now on to the recipe, we call it. . .
Grandma Alexander's Chocolate Cake
( I know we are not very original :-))
Cake:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup butter
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk or milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir together dry ingredients.  In saucepan, heat butter and water to boiling.  Add to dry ingredients and blend with mixer.  Add milk, eggs, and vanilla and mix 2 minutes.  Pour into greased 9X13 pan.  Bake at 350 fir 25-30 minutes.

While it is baking mix up the frosting as it needs to go on the cake hot out of the oven.
Frosting:
1 stick butter
6 Tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup cocoa

In mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar and cocoa and set aside.  In saucepan, heat butter and milk.  Pour into sugar mixture and mix.  Add vanilla and mix until smooth.  Pour over hot cake straight out of the oven.  Let cool and enjoy!
